Manufactured Homes in Huntington, Indiana: Planning for Pets and a Busy Household

Huntington is the county seat of Huntington County, on the Wabash River southwest of Fort Wayne. A lot of the families we hear from around here have a yard full of life — a dog or two, kids in and out, work boots by the door. A new manufactured home handles that well, as long as the floor plan and finishes are chosen with it in mind.
Look for a real back entry
The door your family actually uses every day matters more than the front door. When you browse the floor plans, look for:
- A side or rear door into the laundry or utility room, so mud and wet dogs stop there instead of crossing the living room.
- Space by that door for a bench, hooks and a mat.
- A short path from that door to a bathroom for quick clean-ups.
Choose floors and finishes for wear
Flooring is one of the choices to make at order. Ask which flooring options a specific plan offers and how each one handles claws, water and grit. Many busy households choose hard-surface flooring in the entry, kitchen and laundry, and save carpet for bedrooms. Do not assume a finish from a photo; renderings can show optional features.
Plan the yard with the home
A fenced yard is usually the first project after move-in. Fences often need a permit or have to respect setbacks and easements, so ask the county before you build. Decide where the home and the back door sit, then plan the fence and gate around them. Your contractor handles the fence and site work; we sell the home and arrange delivery.
Come see it with your household in mind
Walk a few homes and imagine a rainy Tuesday. Where do the boots go? Where does the dog sleep? Every quote is line-item — home, each option and delivery — so you can see what each choice adds.
Common questions
Which floor plans have a separate back entry?
Many multi-section plans and some single-section plans do. Check the door placement on each plan.
Do I need a permit for a fence?
Often. Ask the county or town before you build.
