Skirting rarely comes up until the end. It deserves more thought than that, because it does a real job every day the home stands.
What skirting actually does
- Closes the space under the home, so animals do not move in.
- Protects plumbing from the worst of the wind in winter.
- Lets the crawlspace breathe through vents, which keeps moisture down.
